Donald Trump took the stage in North Carolina on Saturday afternoon to rally his supporters, celebrating his most recent primary victory.

The former president appeared in Greensboro after winning Missouri’s Republican caucus.

Later on Saturday, he won the Michigan Republican caucuses, taking all 39 available delegates.

He was expected to travel to Richmond, Virginia later in the day to hold a second rally ahead of Super Tuesday’s sweep of primaries on 5th March.

Mr Trump edges towards the Republican presidential nomination over his last remaining rival, Nikki Haley, as his legal troubles rumble on.

On Friday, Florida Judge Aileen Cannon refrained from setting a trial date in the criminal case over Mr Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.

Judge Cannon called the prosecution’s request to begin the trial in July “unrealistic”, given the potential for overlap with Mr Trump’s other criminal case, the New York hush-money trial – scheduled for six weeks from 25 March.

Separately in Georgia, Judge Scott McAfee said he would need two weeks to consider whether to remove Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from Mr Trump’s election interference case after a romance between the two top prosecutors.
